Apple iPhone 5c to go low on memory and cheap on price

Apple is planning to launch a cheaper variant of the iPhone 5c with lesser on board storage. Apple has not spilled the beans on the launch of the device but we highly speculate it to come in India as well. Right now Apple plans to launch it in Germany but it will soon debut in India too. Apple products have always carried a premium value with them. But with iPhone 5c the company tried to get hold of mid-range buyers, although the device was still costly for budget buyers in a lot of countries and those who wanted to buy iPhone 5c switched to iPhone 5s as there was not much difference in the price.

Apple is selling iPhone 5c 16GB version in India for around Rs 40,000, the plastic build didn’t really work for the company. With another experiment in the memory and price cut Apple may be able to lure some buyers but those who know the fact that there is no memory expansion in the phone will still keep away. The iPhone 5c with 16GB storage leaves around 12.5GB user available memory, so we can expect the 8GB variant to leave the user with 6GB storage only. That’s a very low storage option for a feature packed phone.

However I would like to point out that there are third party accessories available in the market which allows memory and battery expansion on the iPhones. Along with iPhone 5c, Apple also launched the iPhone 5s which was priced slightly higher than the iPhone 5c. iPhone 5s comes with more promising hardware and features and is currently the fastest performing smartphone in the market. Lets see if the price cut and memory shrink works for the Cupertino firm.
